Ningbo Xusheng Die Castings USA is also a Tier 1 zinc die casting manufacturer.
Zinc die casting alloy metals provide a large scale of outstanding surface and structural characteristics and production capabilities. Projects that have very thin walls should be produced through zinc die casting instead of aluminum die casting alloys. Zinc material types allow expanded styles in shape construction and the precision of tighter angle tolerances. Superior impact strength of zinc die castings is much higher when compared to aluminum and magnesium. Since zinc alloy is used in low pressure die casting processes, steel die project life is nearly doubled while reducing the amount of steel die maintenance.
The two most common die casting processes applied to make zinc parts, are hot-chamber and cold-chamber zinc die casting process:
- Hot-chamber: an internal plunger system injects the zinc from a pool of molten zinc metal to fill the steel die while maintaining pressure until the zinc metal hardens in the diecasting die.
- Cold-chamber: Utilizes separate chambers to melt and then hold the melted zinc metal before pouring the zinc alloy into a die casting shot cylinder and injecting the zinc metal into the die casting dies.

The traditional zinc die-casting alloys in the conventional zinc group, which are often referred to commercially as the “Zamak” alloys (stands for zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper) are as follows:
Zinc No. 3 is the most widely used zinc die casting alloy. Zamak 3 provides the best combination of mechanical properties, castability and cost efficiency. This zinc alloy can produce castings with the finest patterns / detail and has an excellent final surface finish. This material type is beneficial for high volume projects as well.
Zinc No. 2 and 5 have an elevated copper content, to increase the wear resistance strength, but at the risk of losing dimensional and property stability. No. 5 provides elevated creep resistance and lower ductility while preferred whenever these qualities are required.
Zinc No. 7 is an extremely high-purity alloy. This creates improved fluidity and allows thinner design areas and walls to be casted.
